As part of the process of becoming designated as a Welcoming Congregation by the Unitarian Universalist Association, we are offering a forum via Zoom with Robert Coburn on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 7:00 pm via Zoom. He will offer a talk entitled “Welcoming, Inclusion, and Equality,” followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Rob grew up in a First Parish family (mom Barbara pictured above with Rob) and graduated from Weston High School in 1981. With degrees from Harvard and Wharton, he has pursued a rewarding career in financial services. In 2012, following his former pastor The Reverend John Buehrens, Rob joined the Board of Directors of Freedom to Marry. He lives on Long Island with his husband Averitt Buttry. Rob will join us to share his experience and perspective on what it means to be welcome and included in communities such as First Parish.
