First Parish is once again participating in the Mother’s Day Walk for Peace, organized by the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute (LDBPI). This annual event not only commemorates the lives of those lost to gun violence but also serves as a beacon of hope for our communities.
The First Parish Social Justice Task Force invites you to walk alongside us on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2024, as we take steps towards cultivating cycles of peace in our communities. Your presence and support are invaluable as we strive to make a positive impact.
This year, the theme of the walk is “Cultivating Cycles of Peace.” It’s a reminder of our collective responsibility to break free from the cycles of violence that often dominate our society. Through empowerment, support for impacted citizens and their families, and investing in the youth, we have the power to cultivate a future defined by peace and unity.
If you are unable to participate in the walk, we encourage you to contribute to our fundraising efforts. The Social Justice Task Force has a goal of raising $3,000 to contribute to the overall goal of $600,000, which will directly support the vital services, advocacy, and training provided by the LDBPI.
